Introducing Mr. Web!
Hello and welcome to mr.web, Mister Magazine’s online publication! Since last year’s inaugural issue, we’ve been lucky to undergo some pretty exciting changes. We nearly sold out of our first issue, revamped our website, joined the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses, and doubled the size of our team, just to name a few!
As our publication continues to grow, so does our commitment to the values that make Mister…Mister! This magazine was born of the desire to create a friendly, accessible publication for artists new to the litmag scene. We want to help our contributors gain confidence, form connections, and get their work onto the printed page. So far, we’ve been honored to publish dozens of emerging creatives, many of whom saw their work published for the first time in Mister Magazine. It is a unique privilege to connect our readers with work that we deeply admire.
Frankly, the number of fantastic pieces we receive vastly outnumbers the constraints of our page limit. In the past 14-odd months, we’ve reviewed over 600 submissions from contributors around the world. Our magazine typically runs at 64 pages, meaning we can only publish a fraction of the work we’ve come to love.
…which is where mr.web comes in.
We plan to use this site to publish more work, feature more artists, and create a larger community than ever before. In addition to our yearly print publication, mr.web will serve as a home for the work we root for, as well as other content suited for the world wide web. This might include extensions of print projects, interviews with our contributors, and blog posts like these, updating our readers on what to look for and what’s to come!
On this new online platform, we’ll be able to post work with greater frequency and variety than the printed page allows. As such, submissions will be open for our website year round. The submission window and form for our print publication will be closed until the months leading up to its release. In the meantime–send us your work! Your works-in-progress! Your pitches for features, reviews, opinions! As always, we look forward to seeing what you submit and hope it can find a home in our (web)pages. Ha.
You can find the link to our online submission form here, or on our submission page. And if you want to pitch a longform project for consideration, why not shoot us an email at mistermagazinesubmit@gmail.com? We’ll be happy to chat and see where it lands.
Well, that’s all for now. We’re so grateful to the contributors, readers, and well-wishers who have made this litmag a reality.
All the best, as always,
Poppy Livingstone
