Ella von Huene is a locally raised Boston Artist, working primarily with oil paint to create large scale works which explore the human figure and psyche. Ella takes a uniquely abstracted approach, creating dream-like works with industrialized materialistic sensibilities, while simultaneously representing the human form in a cartoon-y fashion-- Ella's portraits center emotion and are formatically unbothered by nature, creating a deeply uncomplicated viewer experience. Ella graduated with a B.A. in painting, in 2023, From the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she served on the Board of Trustees, as a part of the Student Government Elect Board. In 2023, she won the Roger Tibbetts Auction Award, and in 2022, the Golden departmental Award; She also worked as a Student Gallery Manager, and Curated several shows. She recently had her first post-graduate solo show, courtesy of the Juliet Lockwood Studios, in Worcester MA, as well as in the following group show :Form. In her day to day life, Ella works in public health, and is always looking for new ways to use her art to better advocate for the consideration of those battling traumatic histories.
