Brianna Howard is a contemporary painter whose abstract work is process-based with a core focus on materiality. By creating conditions to react to through the layering of materials, marks, and color, she explores painting as a performative gesture, calling into question what the painting may be a witness to.
Howard’s artwork has been shown in exhibitions in the U.S., including Abigail Ogilvy Gallery and Gallery 263 in Boston. She has attended residences at the Anderson Ranch Center, New York Academy of Art, and New York Studio School. In 2022, she received a BFA in both Painting and Printmaking from Boston University. She is currently based in Boston, Massachusetts.
